Women's Health

Traditional Chinese Gynaecology has, over the course of more than two thousand years, developed itself into an indepent, complete system that is able to effectively diagnose and treat a range of women’s disorders. Its theory is based on the dynamic balance between Yin and Yang and the free flow of Qi as the basis of a healthy body and mind. Complaints emerge when this balance is disturbed.
We are skilled at supporting women as they go through all of life’s stages and transitions, from puberty til menopause. All in all, we love to help you to enjoy being a woman!

Menstruation

Traditional Chinese medicine considers menstruation a normal part of female physiology and as such emphasizes that menstruation should go smoothly, meaning without discomfort. Unfortunately this is not the case for many women, we were taught ‘that’s just how it is’.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can relieve cycle-related complaints. By correcting the hormonal balance, regulating ovulation and improving the blood flow in the pelvis and breasts, we are able to help you achieve your optimum health. We treat hormonal imbalance, painful menstruation, PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, amenorrhoea, excessive bleeding etc.

Perimenopause

Traditional Chinese medicine considers (peri-)menopause a natural period of transition, which grants us opportunities for transformation on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. However, this transitional period doesn’t always go as fluent as we would like.

60% of perimenopausal women experience menopausal complaints that negatively impact their quality of life. These symptoms can be very disrupting, to such an extent that they can start to control your life. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can treat hot flashes, sleeping disorders, vaginal dryness, osteoporosis, anxiety and moodswings etc. and help you regain your balance.

(Benign) breast disorders

Mastopathy (painful breasts), cysts, mastitis, fibroadenomas… these are only a few examples of breast disorders that Chinese Medicine can help with. Several meridians run through the breasts, most importantly the Stomach-, Liver-, Kidney- and Gallbladder meridian. Sometimes a stagnation of Qi, blood and/or liquids, arises, which causes the body to signal imbalance through pain, distention, inflammation, etc.

Acupuncture is very effective in relieving pain, but Traditional Chinese Medicine can do much more: it looks at your condition in a holistic way, so we not only treat a symptom, but we treat the root of your complaint, which is why we also value nutrition and lifestyle advice as part of your treatment and which results in your whole body becoming balanced again.

Vaginal complaints

Classic Chinese gynaecology dedicates an entire department to the treatment of vaginal complaints: Dai Xia Bing. It covers, among others, leucorrhoea, bacterial vaginosis, Candidiasis, vulvodynia (vaginal pain) and vaginal itching. From the standpoint of traditional Chinese medicine, effective treatment is only possible when the underlying imbalance is diagnosed and treated with care.
